Why Practical Choice?
I’m Ziya Akgüneyli, an experienced hospitality leader, mentor and advisor. My career in hospitality started on the ground as a Unit Manager, and over the last 35+ years, I’ve had the privilege of working my way up through to senior leadership and board-level roles. Along the way, my focus has always been simple: helping organisations steady their operations, optimise their procurement and achieve sustainable growth.
I’ve never believed in a one-size-fits-all corporate approach. For me, hospitality is entirely people-centred. Whether I am restructuring a supply chain, negotiating with suppliers, or advising on cost control, I do it by collaborating closely with the teams on the floor.
Today, I am channeling that experience into part-time Advisory, Consultant, or Non-Executive Director roles for small-to-medium hospitality businesses. I’m here to act as a practical sounding board and mentor for owners and emerging leaders who want to improve profitability and efficiency without losing their team culture.
